Founded in 1997, this web site, coptichymns.net, is the main hub of the Coptic Media Network, the first true network of Coptic Orthodox web sites around the world.

coptichymns.net is dedicated to the preservation of Coptic hymns, the unique and ancient music of the Coptic Orthodox Church, which is derived from Pharaonic chants. Coptic hymns and music are one of the many deep facades of the Coptic Orthodox Church. Through them, believers communicate with God and participate in divine mysteries for the salvation of their souls.

This web site is committed not only to the preservation of Coptic hymns, but also to the dissemination of knowledge concerning Coptic hymns and Orthodoxy around the world through its Coptic Forums, Spiritual Library, presentations, and other sections.

coptichymns.net is proudly designed, coded, and optimized on Mac OS X and is viewed best on Mac OS X.

The site is compatible with all major browsers, versions 6+, except for Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.2 for Mac OS X, which has been discontinued.

We highly recommend Mozilla Firefox to our Windows users and Apple Safari to our Mac OS X users.

If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0+ for Windows, you should automatically see our Coptic fonts without the need to install them yourself. However, if you cannot see our Coptic fonts, please download the excellent CS Coptic Fonts package from www.copticchurch.net (direct link) and install them per the listed instructions.

We specifically use CS Avva Shenouda the most.
