Dear All,

I was asked by sunday school leaders if there existed a syllabus for teaching coptic hymns as I know one exists for general sunday school teaching. I thought I would ask if any members has such a syllabus so that we could use it in our church. Please post here or PM me. Your help is seriously appreciated as we really want to get serious with hymn teaching not just biblical etc.

Peave in Christ.

Andrew, I once put together a syllabus for myself which I then offered to the church I was serving in. I'll find it for you (or re-compile) and send it over. Peace, sotirmou.

There is a very elaborate one which encompasses all the hymns of the Church throughout the year. It was prepared by one of the Churches in Shoubra, Cairo, Egypt. I don't know off-hand the name of the Church, but I can get that for you. If you have contacts in Cairo and specifically in Shoubra, they may be able to go there and get a copy. The only other hitch is it is all in Arabic.

Let me know and I'll try to locate the name of the Church.

I couldn't find the old one I had done, but thanks to God's grace, I have put together a new one. It's not a straight hymns curriculum, but more geared to breeding liturgical servants. Please find it attached. If people need it in any other format, let me know.

Hi Sotirmou, would you mind explaining the Base I/II/III and the levels, i don't quite understand what you mean by these terms.
Thanks,
Pavly

Pavly,

I humbly ask you to re-read the Introduction in the document again. To aid you, think of the bases as in baseball, where you run from one to one until you go and the levels as steps in learning how to pray and learn the language of prayer.

When the Lord wills, curricula shall be set down for both of these sections.

Is there anywhere where this can be downloaded? I don't see it 'attached' as you wrote.
