The wise young virgin,
The truly chosen lady,
The bride of Christ,
Saint Juliana.

Hail to you, O young virgin and saint, Juliana the martyr. You who witnessed the suffering of St. Barbara, you who witnessed the miracles of the Lord with her, you who chose to love the Christ whom St. Barbara loved as well. With wisdom you were moved to imitate St. Barbara and become obedient to Christ's message of denying the self and carrying the cross. Hail to you, O truly chosen lady, martyred with St. Barbara, and became the bride of Christ. Remember us in your prayers with St. Barbara.

The wise young virgin,
The truly chosen lady,
The bride of Christ,
Saint Marina.

Hail to you, O Saint Marina, the strong saint who overpowered Satan and embarrassed kings and rulers! Your love and obedience to Christ were your means of endurance while suffering, until you received the crown of martyrdom. Great was your endurance, great was your strength, great was your obedience, for Emmanuel was with you. Remember us in your prayers, O bride of Christ adorned by the virgins, before Emmanuel who was with you and is with us.

Do not forget the covenant,
Which You have made with our fathers,
Abraham, Isaac, Jacob,
Israel, Your holy ones.

Hail to you, our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel), for through your obedience you were blessed by the Lord Almighty, and gave you the covenant. By your faith and your works you have shown your obedience to the Law of God, and followed every command He gave you. Abraham, you never thought of the consequences of leaving your family and your land behind to follow God's command; Isaac, you never thought of leaving the land that God gave you, despite the famine in the land; and what can I say of you, Jacob, the father of the twelve tribes of Israel, the man who wrestled with God for a blessing? Hail to the three Patriarchs, who obeyed God's voice and kept His charge, His commandments, His statutes, and His laws. Through you the children of Israel and all the nations have been blessed, for through your seed our Lord Jesus Christ came and saved us from our sins.

Righteously, therefore, they left their earthly family, and followed the Word of God, walking as pilgrims with the Word, that they might later have their abode with the Word.

Remember, O Lord, the covenant that You made with our Patriarchs, and have mercy on us, just as You were merciful to the children of Israel when they fell away and disobeyed Your commandments, as it is written: "But the Lord was gracious to them and had compassion on them; he turned toward them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them; nor has He banished them from His presence until now" (2 Kings 13:23).

O Lord, and save us from the fires of iniquity in this world, as You have heard the young men in the furnace and saved them, when they asked you to remember the covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Prayer of Azariah 1:11, 12).

Hail to our father Antony,
The light of Monasticism,
Hail to our father Paul,
The beloved of Christ.

Hail to you, my fathers, Abba Antony and Abba Paul, the men perfected in the wilderness. Leaving your riches behind, O Abba Antony, you sought to abide with the Word of God by carrying your cross in the wilderness. You sought, and you certainly found. And you too, Abba Paul, you left your riches behind, and sought for justice and righteousness, abiding alone with the One God of mercy and righteousness.

Great is your honor and virtue, O my fathers, who heard, saw, walked, lived, and did everything in obedience to every Word uttered by God in the Scriptures, and to the Holy Spirit who spoke to you, as He did with the prophets and the Church. Hail to you, my father Abba Antony, the light of the monastic life, who made the wilderness a city for those who wish to live in holiness. Hail to you, my father Abba Paul, who left the world and lived with the angels, ever praising God in the wilderness.

Indeed you are both the beloved of Christ, for you moved and had your whole being in Christ! Pray for us, O cross-bearers, that we too may be enlightened by your example, and be able to obey every great commandment of our Lord Jesus Christ.
