Dear copticheritage.org,
Dear All,

In the name of Jesus, I salute you.
This is my first time here and my first post.

I am a 26 years old guy from Jordan, i have known the copti church since i was 5 years old maybe.
My family has a great respect for this church, and we go pray in the copti church in Amman, Jordan every once in a while.

I have known Baba kyrollos very well, read most of his "mo3jizat" books, he has been there for us all the time, we pray for his "shafa3a" for Jesus.
Last year i had a dream, where I saw Baba kyrollos in our house, i ran to him, kissed his hand and asked him for his prayers, he told me: "You are ok now, but later on, you need a prayer"
I felt really ok to see him in my dream, i woke up with my eyes full of tears.
But now, i think time has come, when i need a prayer.

Lately I've been feeling lost and holding heavy burden on my chest.
I am afraid I did something wrong against God's well,
and I want to confess of my sins in front of Jesus.

I will tell you my story, I have met a Christian girl lately, she is so caring, loving and knows god well. She actually a member of the church's choral.

Time has passed and we have known each other very well..
My confession is that we shared times together and did things that normal friends would not normally do.
We committed adultery.

I am confessing in front of Jesus and you all, I want you to pray for me and my forgiveness. Since that day, I had two car accidents, and life has been really dark. Sometimes I can not breathe. I ask Jesus to have his blood on me and my life to protect me and make me strong to face my sins and ask for my
forgiveness.

I need your prayers to help me all the way in this great test. i know time will come when i will really go to copti church in Amman and confess and have Abouna prayers on me and my car. Meanwhile, please i am asking you all to pray for me and mention me in your prayer.

I am in need of your help and prayer.

May Jesus bless you all and have his blood on us all to protect us and our families.

Lord Jesus, I did something wrong and i'm asking you to forgive me and have your holly spirit on me.

Thank you all,

Hazem.

Dear Hazem,
May the lord support all of us in our fight against satan. you may have lost a battle, but not the war. One verse comes to mind at this point "I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee" (Arabic "اقوم واذهب الى ابي واقول له يا ابي اخطأت الى السماء وقدامك")(Luke 15:18).

I ask you to pray for all of us to learn the true repentance from the heart, and to change our way and go back to the bosom of our Father.

Dear Hazem

Jesus has already paid the price for your sins, and mine. Listen to what he asks of us: "Repent, for the kngdom of heaven is (always) near". also, listen to Him say: "What is it you want me to for you?", and "Your Faith has made you well", and again "Do not sin anymore, lest worse things befall you".

our lord's blessings.

I will tell you what I think (and it is not written in stone).
A good place to start will be the First Epistle of John, then finish the rest of John's epistles, then Romans (I find they give an insight about the Christian mind). before you go any further you would find yourself neding to know Christ deeper as a person, so you start with gospels (I personally rather it being Luke or Mark) then you would have your own wings to fly you through the New Testament as you see fit.

Moheb,

How are you habibi? I'm curious, is there any reason you prefer starting with Luke or Mark as opposed to say, John? Seeing as how you recommend starting with his Epistles, I would have assumed continuing with his Gospel would be a good start as well. Your insight would be appreciated.

Please pray for me.

I am doing very well, Peter, Thanks. How about you. yes there is a reason why I picked that order. The First Epistle of Saint John, clarifies very fundemental issue in Christianity (Love vs. Living under the dominion of Satan, although the Epistle was written to fight Gnostism), and so are the rest of John epistles cover pretty good grounds of personal experience with God. As for the reason why I picked Luke rather than John, Luke's Gospel talks about Christ the friend; the friend of the sinners, the friend of the poor, of the widows. The Gospel of Luke makes Christ very close to us as humans, while the Gospel of John Makes Him waaaaay above us as God, since this Gospel talks alot about the divinity of Christ. When someone is trying to experience God, they should always start to see him near to them, someone they can relate to, someone who laughs, weeps, loves, gets angry, gets compasionate, etc. then when you advance in His knowledge you try to Grasb this divinity and run after Him and see this new friend of yours as the King of kings, and the one who is handing you His throne to become an heir to the Kingdom of God.

Pray for me please (not just an ending salutation, please do)

Peace Hazem

It is a great thing that you are acknowledging that what you did was wrong. And yes indeed the holy blood of Christ is able to forgive all sins. However, make sure that these true words of encouragement do not cause you to lax or to somehow execuse this grievous sin. Much tears of repentance are now required from you my friend.

Basically, I just wanted to remind all of us that we ought to stay clear of all extremes. Do not ever fall into despair and give up hope that our Lord Jesus will not forgive you, but at the same time do not use that as a 'cloak for vice', or an execuse to do it again.

Finding this mysterious balance is learnt best from doing many metanias or prostrations or 'sagdat'. In a metania, you kneel in front of Him who paid the price for this sin, confessing it and then His loving grace lifts you from the filfth of the ground.

Forgive me if these seem like harsh words. God knows that love wrote them and I need to benefit from them as much as you do. But let us not lose sight of the heavy price of sin. May He who loves us give us all tears that open our eyes to acknowledge our sins and to see the love that conquered it.

Thank you for being there for me.. your words are making me a stronger person to face my fears and sins! I know I have a big sad smile on my face now.. but i also know someday i will smile truly from the bottom of my heart in the name of Jesus..!

As of today i have started to read the Bible.. "The First Epistle of Saint John", not just for the sake of reading as i used to do sometimes.. i finally am able to understand and feel every single word I read.. and I wish to reflect it to my life.

I know I will, Pray for me and I sure will mention you all in my prayers.

May the Lord bless us all exceedengly and abundantly, above all we could ever hope for.

truly,
Hazem

Agape..

hey Hazem.. I just want to say thank you. You've actually been a source of hope to all of us. You see, this test of faith that you went and are still working through has and will purify and strengthen you. The Lord tests and rewards, He examines and heals, He digs deep and finds treasures. I just want to say thank you for sharing those treasures and allowing us to benefit.

Its hard, yes, but you have such a strong tool, one that is very available, yet only seen by a few. You have God's love. It can move mountains, it can heal the sick, the blind and the lame, but it can also shine. Learn how to grasp and be contained in God's love and you will shine.

I don't have much advice on what to read, since we have experts here to tell us (Moheb> ur awesome!) but all i can say is.. God knows you can handle it, with Him, Through Him and for Him you will conquer!

God Bless You, You're in our prayers.. but remember..

Always pray, always..

Maro
