4give my ignorance .. but i need clarification .... i realized that the only coptic priest in lebanon ... is ABOUNA PHILOPATEER . ....but .... he doesnt wear the normal headwear of a priest ... but has the monk attire for his head wear .... even while preforming the liturgy ...
i think he is a monk .... / priest ...... is there such thing as a monk / priest ???? can a monk and priest be one ?

also ... im thinking of inviting him to my home for a dinner .... sort of a thank you for being so nice to me .

do u think if he is indeed a monk ... that it is wise of me to ask him to come .... ?? i dont want to put him in a postion of discomfort ....
advice ???

Hey Tony,
You guessed it - There IS such thing as a monk priest... normally monks in the monastery cannot perform liturgy's only priests and monks who are ordained as priests.

I think it wouldn't be any problem to invite him because he is a priest; since he may be the main priest in Lebanon. However, you should just try and find out if this priest does visitations... because I know that only some monk-priests don't do visitations for different reasons... but regardless this, just ask him anyway.

GBU
much love
-Sherry
