Hey Everyone,

I was watching some youtube videos the other day (specifically David Blaine stuff)....I'm kind of interested. But then I came across Criss Angel and I have to say that this guy is something else because he does stuff that is unbelievable.

What is the Coptic view on this guy (or people of this type). I don't want some ancient quote from a father on the second century cursing the works of these type of people but I want a more contemporary view on this matter.

I understand that there is a possibility that this is just good camera work and that it is all an illusion...but the guy walked on water!!!! How????

Hey George,

Both of these guys are mere entertainers. As a person who used to make a hobby out of illusions, I can tell you that everything they do has an obvious trick--most people just can't see it.

David Blaine does not use many camera tricks, but either all of his props are gimmicked or he uses extensive slight of hand especially on his card tricks.

Chris Angel uses camera tricks for everything, including his walking on water. His volunteers are also not authentic, that is, they are actors.

I watched the video of Criss Angel walking on water, and I noticed something interesting. Look at the way he steps on the water, especially the close ups of his legs. He doesn't seem to be getting any opposite force from the water when he presses down, which seems to suggest that he is simply being held up by something else, probably a cord of some sort. I really looks fake.

I'm sure that it is just an illusion but my question is what if it were true? I know that in the past there were people who used to do real witchcraft (the bible speaks of it)...so, what if it were true?

The real Criss Angel thing: If it is true, then obviously it's not from God (I don't think anyone here thought it was), because I don't think that God would give this guy some kind of power which he uses for the purposes of entertainment and pride.

And it seems that the people who talk about it after are too dramatic anyways. "OH MY GOSH! I WAS LIKE, WHAT?! WHOA!"
