Hi mu3alem Albair. My name is Lourence and Im a deacon from Manchester church in England. Firstly I want to start by saying a big thank you for all the amazing lessons you have put on the coptic heritage website. Many of the hymns I have learnt over the past few years have been through the website and through lessons by mu3alem Gad Lewis on tasbeha.org. some hymns that r more difficult and have no lessons I have travelled to Sudan and spent time with mu3alemen whilst on holiday and dey have taught me such as Genethlion, el hoos el kiahky etc etc.

I read the post that u will be putting lessons for la7n Demas. I will checking the website regularly in anticipation, so thank u!

i have a very big request please.... I would really appreciate i if u could also put some lessons for hymns such as to zipno which is said on manudy thursday, Esthermegi for paramount of the nativity. Egeneesis for the nativity. En yorzany for the epiphany. Pemairoumi for the great lent weekdays. The long evlogemenos. tegalilea for the feast of our Lord's entry into Egypt. Adam abel for the feast of any prophet, Also in tasbeha hymns such as artenthonti and al el 3asr. (Recently mu3alem gad lewis lessons for onishti emeesterion have been posted on tasbeha.org hence why I am only requesting pemairomi and not onishti emmesterion).

I know my request may seem strange and incredibly demanding but these are the rare hymns in my opinion that I havent been able to find gd reliable recordings to learn from or that dey r difficult and need to be broken down into lessons.

I have downloaded the recent lessons u posted for vesper tasbe7at kiahk such as el romy wel mo3aghab. it is these kind of hymns in my opinion in additin the ones I listed above I find hardest to learn. I am pretty sure I speak for most deacons who r very keen and eager on learning hymns!!!

Many thanks mu3alem. my email address is lourencelewishanna@gmail.com, It would be greately appreciated if u could reply but I know u must be very busy so its completely understandable if you cant. Many thanks again mu3alem. Remember me in ur prayers and sorry for giving u a headache!

May god bless you and your will to learn hymns. I no albier is busy he might answer soon enough but until then i no there have been many views on this forum so i will comment on something i no about....

you mentioned a couple of hymns such as...

Tou Dipnou
Isthermegi
Egeneesis
Pi Mairomi
Great Eflogimenos

These Hymns will probably not be up as a class any time soon.... especially that off Egeneesis, and the great eflogimenos.... since we mainly take each "event" at at time, like we have done so far (tasbeha, vespers, liturgy, pascha) in a couple of years (resurrection, palm sunday, nativity, etc.) so that might not be until a while. The only thing that might be out is pi mairomi and Isthermegi in arabic not coptic,as far as i understand the hymn needs to be reviewed and "corrected" before it can be sung in coptic since it is made up of coptic and greek.

Unless Albier has something else in mind (which i doubt) you might be waiting a while since we are really busy with other productions and such other work.

To Dipnou is a bit of a hard hymn to learn, but it is possible since it isn't that long. Also, the long eflogimenos by muallim mikhail the great (although it is long) the quality is still good to learn from until we get the class for it which might be in a couple of years.

However,

Adam Abel, Aretenthonti and Al el Asr. Were already recorded as you might have heard on your past productions. I am not to sure if they are recorded in the classes if they were than Albier would have put them up on the site. If not we might do them again just for reviewing purposes since they are also to be sung during khiak. So if we do not have them recorded then we might be able to record them in the classes if we do get a chance to review them.

Hope this helps, and its nice to see people are benefitting from the classes and i always like to see people with the love for hymns and learning more so they can sing as many hymns as they can in their churches.

Hope this helps until Albier gets a chance to write something, unless i said everything already.

Pray 4 Me & for the HCOC service - God Bless You All

Many thanks for your reply. I really appreciate it. Its good to know though that you will be eventually putting some of these more difficult hymns as lessons although they may take a couple of years. I will be checking the website on a regular basis for new hymns lessons. I have the HCOC prductions except for the Holy week one which I am hoping to order this week!
It would be great if you could review some of the hymns like Aretenthonti and Adam abel... although I have the CDs I think it would be more accurate if I learnt from the lessons and just to make sure as well that the tune is right throughout. Anyhow many thaks again. Remember me in ur prayers. Very Happy

Thank you people, God bless all the efforts you put in in reviving the Coptic hymns, and the heritage altogether. May God complete your work, and bless every thing your hands reach out for. Pray for us a lot
