Dear brothers and Sisters,

HH Pope Shenouda was in an official Visit to Ethiopia. for three. He came last Friday and was received at the Bole International Airport by so many of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church (EOC)Fathers, sons and daughters.

He went to the Holy Trinity Cathedral, (although
I was not able to attend), a friend told me his speech was very thoughtful and touchy. It was mainly regarding Priesthood, that it is a matter of responsibility and not authority (A basic problem , at least in my opinion, here.)

Saturday, he was busy with official visits to the Prime Minister's office, meeting the President ...

We were all glad and trilled by his presence at the Bole Medhanialem Catedral (Holy Savior Church), Sunday Morning. The Catedral was full of believers from all over the city. He was accompanied by some coptic bishops (whose name I know include, Bishop Bishoy, Bishop Markos, Bishop Angelous, Bishop Baulla??, and some two or more bishops). Every one was very happy to see him and to get his blessing.

For many of us it was like a dream come true. Some of us have always thought of going to Egypt to get his blessing.

We all hope and pray this iwill be the beginning of the turning point to a renewed relationship between the two churches and his visit will bring so many blessing to the church and its followers

Hope this help
Pray for me

Have you all read BBC's NEWS?

Sun halo wows Ethiopians amid a pope's visit!!

The ring of light hung in the sky for almost an hour was acclaimed by church goers who had flocked to see the visiting patriarch as a miracle or a blessing from God. Pope Shenouda himself believed it was a signal from above. He said "we accept any sign from God to encourage as in our way, and confirm that we are going right in our way". Abuna Paulos of Ethiopia also said "thank you God for revealing a sign".

Although I have been going to the Coptic Church now for a little over 3 years. I was baptized in 2005. I have never met Baba Shenouda. I wish I could meet him. In fact, I would like to know when he is comming to the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan area. The reason why I never got a change to meet him is because I don't drive. If you live close to NYC, you do not need a car.
