Hi All,
It would be great if Albair can contribute in this,

I need a full description of what exactly we say as deacons when the bishop or the pope comes for a visit to the church.

Please include information on:

Different occasions of the year, i.e. What do we say when the bishop comes in the joyful days? and what do we say when the bishop comes in the annual days?

What do we say during Vesper and Mass,

It would be great if I can hav this informatin ASAP as this is urgent,

thanks

Hany

Finally a new forum on hymns!

For(bishop/pope)
1. You start with Ekesmarout (Khristos anesty during 50 days) then hiten for the bishop. Pope is evlogimenos

2. For the vespers you sa Tenti hoerok during verses of cymbals appropriate for the bishop/pope

3. For the liturgy you always say Nisavev, Ic Pateer (optional), for bishop/pope. Tob Heena long is the pope only

4. You also say the psalm marouchasf according to the tune of the occasion! There is also a statheete for both the pope and bishop!

5. There is a special praxis response exclusive to the patriarch

6. for the end of the liturgy you say Akchi

The following are hymns that are said for the pope:
Sha nirompi
E-aghapy
P epnevma
Shenouda to makariou
Long P ehmot ghar
Timeet esnooty

From my knowledge, you can chant these hymns at consecrations, weddings, or after the synaxar i think, Or whenever time permits. If i think of anything else i will post...

God bless
Tony

In regards to multiple bishops in attendance, has anything in the rubric changed? I was taught if there were three or more we just said "Nietkhi Neman". Though very recently I've noticed with as many as 4 bishops present they would say all the names.

Yes, that is true. Once there are 2 or more bishops you say Nee etky neman. In my church we would say both names of the bishops though out of respect but if there were more than two, we would most likely say Nee etky neman.

God bless
Tony
