I have a good friend of mine. Her dad constantly put her down, as well as her sisters. This man also abused and cheated on his wife. He used to be very control and felt that woman are considered property and are less then men. He feels threatened by women with successful careers. Anyhow, Her dad always told her that she would never be successful because she is a woman and therefore should marry a man that will take care of her and not look to go to college and persue a career like a man is supposed to do. However, she was very determined to go against her dad and have a very successful career. She went to NYU on full scholorship. After college, she got an MBA in Finance from London school of Econmonics and the got a masters in Economics from Yale. Now she has a very successful and fulfilling career. Furthermore, she is 34 and not married. She never wants to marry because of the way her dad treated her mom while she was growing up. She told me that she became very successful because she wanted to get back at her dad and prove him wrong. She totally resents him for the way he treated her, her sister and her mom. Is it a sin to feel this way?
